The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP), a famous immigration program from Canada that enables an aspiring immigrant to become permanent resident of Canada by making a risk-free investment of CAD $800,000 will open up again within the next two months.

The QIIP is one of the most famous investor immigration programs across the globe and is the only passive investor immigration program. This program provides a number of benefits over other investor immigration program available in Canada.

For instance, there is no conditional or probationary stage, and an applicant is able to obtain Canadian permanent residency visa provided the application is submitted in the right manner. The QIIP investor immigration program is a lot different from the EB-5 immigration program run by United States.

In the latter program an applicant has to show that a minimum of 10 jobs have been created in the last two years. There is no such requirement in the QIIP.

Second important point is that, the investment of CAD $800,000 is made an approved financial intermediary. There is an assurance that the investment will be returned in full after the completion of five years from a government of Quebec entity.

Two Doctors in Houston Who Received Removal Orders from Immigration Officials Granted Temporary Stay

Two conspicuous Houston specialists confronting expulsion by movement authorities to their local India have been conceded an impermanent, 90-day respite while they attempt to sort the printed material that will permit them to keep living and working legitimately in the United States.

The wedded couple are both neurologists and confronted expulsion Thursday after migration authorities denied at last to extend their impermanent consent to remain in the U.S., conceivably risking the care of many patients who have particular surgeries planned with the two specialists in coming weeks.

It's the most recent case of the administration taking a strangely hard line on migration and declining to consider cases on an individual premise.

"I have 50 patients today and 40 patients tomorrow," said Dr. Pankaj Satija, a neurologist who helped found the Pain and Headache Centers of Texas. "I'm quite recently concerned they'll be left in a sway. They could arrive up in the crisis room."

The couple has been here lawfully for over 10 years in the wake of coming here from India to do investigate and finish their therapeutic residencies. The Houston Methodist Hospital System supported Satija for his green card around 2008 and the Labor Department confirmed that no Americans could play out his occupation in 2010.

But since of principles restricting what number of migrants can really get changeless residency every year and an enormous excess simultaneously, the couple was given a temporary status until their green cards end up plainly accessible. The class for India is right now so behind that lone outsiders who connected for the work accreditation before June 2008 are accepting their green cards.

Satija and his better half, Dr. Monika Ummat, who is likewise a neurologist gaining practical experience in epilepsy at Texas Children's Hospital, restored their impermanent work approvals and their travel records at regular intervals as required. They purchased a house in West University Place and had two kids, Ralph, who is 7, and 4-year-old Zooey.

The issue started a year ago when for reasons unknown their travel record was issued for just a single year, not at all like the run of the mill time of two years like their business approval.

Additionally befuddling the issue was that Customs and Border Protection authorities stamped their travel report saying that it lapsed in June this year, when in actuality U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services noticed that their archive really lapsed in June 2016.

The specialists did not see the error. They had a strangely bustling year and were not arranging universal travel. At that point last October, Satija's sibling called from Delhi and said that their dad was amazingly sick and had been admitted to concentrated care. The family expected to go immediately.

They instantly purchased plane tickets and gathered their sacks. After coming back to the United States about seven days after the fact, a Customs and Border Protection official at the air terminal noticed the inconsistency on their travel report and that in truth it had effectively lapsed four months already.

"The officer took a gander at it and said it's a typical slip-up, that it was no major ordeal," Satija said.

They were permitted in through a program known as conceded examination, which permits certain explorers without the right printed material to enter the nation so they can settle the mistake.

This is not all, in 2008 a new immigration program was introduced by Canada in the form of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This program enables foreign workers to settle permanently in Canada provided they fulfill certain eligibility criteria.

The other two immigration programs include the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Federal Skilled Worker Class. It was in 2015 that the Express Entry immigration system was brought into force and there has been no study conducted on this system till now.

However, the latest report explicitly mentions about the Express Entry immigration system and highlights the need for arranged job offers, proficiency in French or English and Canadian experience. This is something which benefits enormously all the foreign workers who are working in Canada temporarily.

Donald Trump Second Travel Ban Blocked by Federal Judge

The second travel ban from Donald Trump administration has been blocked by a federal judge in Hawaii, hours before it was to become effective. The judge put the ban on hold after hearing the argument that the new executive order from President Trump discriminates people on the basis of nationality.

The ruling has come after the legal challenges were renewed by the opponents across the country. Three states asked the judge to block the executive order which is being issued specifically for six Muslim dominated countries.

There are nearly half a dozen states that are making efforts to stop the ban. The federal courts in Hawaii, Washington state and Maryland listened to arguments as to whether to put the ban or not.

Decision from Derrick Watson, US District Court Judge has prevented the executive order from becoming effective, at least for the time being. A temporary restraining order has been asked by Hawaii.

Hawaii has also reasoned that the executive order ban will prevent residents from meeting with their relatives coming from the six banned countries. It has also been reasoned that tourism industry will be hit hard due to ban and it will also block the recruitment of foreign workers and students.

The attorneys in Maryland has reasoned that the executive order is a discrimination against Muslims. Government attorney who tried to protect the executive order reasoned that substantial changes have been made to address the legal issues. Measures have been taken to exempt religious minorities from the countries that are affected.

Jeffrey Wall reasoned that the ban does not mentioned anything about religion. No distinction has been made based on religion.

Kellie Leitch's Understanding of Immigration System Questioned by a Lawyer

A controversial proposal from a conservative leadership candidate for screening immigrants who are coming to Canada has brought to limelight the procedure that is being followed in admitting people tot he country.

Kellie Leitch, during an interview with Calgary Eyeopener, talked about the video she uploaded on social media giving reference to the large number of people who have viewed it. She added that the popularity of her video indicates that this topic on immigration is being discussed readily by people.

Leitch is of the view that all the visitors, refugees and immigrants coming to Canada should undergo a face-to-face interview and should be check for the values he or she has towards Canada.

Evelyn Ackah, an immigration lawyer, has taken the matter in her hand and has put a question mark of the knowledge of Leitch on the current immigration system.

Ackah who is a managing lawyer at a business immigration firm was speaking to Calgary Eyeopener on Friday.

Evelyn pointed to the fact that all the immigrants whether they are a refugee or a immigrant are screened at the consulate and have already been seen face to face. Police checks are done of these immigrants for next six months once they start living in Canada. They are also being screened by humanitarian organizations and a complete scrutiny is done.

The statement made by Kellie only shows that she does not have complete knowledge of the working of immigration system.

Evelyn was asked about her view on screening immigrants to find out what sort of Canadian values do they have, such as tolerance, freedom, generosity, helping others, hard work and equal opportunity.

Evelyn responded with a question by saying who can one check for such factors? This argument does not make any sense and it does not look really practical.

She added that in case it had been easy to immigrate to Canada than there would have been no need for immigration lawyers or of immigration consultants.

Canada has an open door policy for immigrants and has always welcomed new people who want to come here and settle permanently.

However, it has strict regulations to ensure that only the right kind and deserving people get the chance to immigrate to Canada.

Canadian Provinces More Active With Their Provincial Nominee Programs

Canadian Provinces More Active With Their Provincial Nominee Programs

As we move ahead in the year 2017, more and more activity is being seen in the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) of Canada. The target for the number of new immigrants coming in Canada by way of PNPs has been increased by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to 51,000 for the current year.

This target represents an increase of 7% as compared to the target that was set for previous year. Many provinces are making active preparation to meet the fresh targets as they have expanded and opened various streams and categories of their respective provincial programs.

Provinces and territories have the liberty to set their own eligibility criteria under PNPs, and pick applicants who fulfill the requirements of the labor market needs of these provinces.

British Columbia

A total of 1,260 Invitations to Apply (ITA) were issued by the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) in three separate draws in February. In the total number 28 ITA were given to people who applied under the Entrepreneur Immigration category, and the rest of the ITA were sent to candidates who applied under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams.

Aspiring immigrants should remember that ITAs that are issued under the BC PNP are different from the ones that are given by IRCC to candidates who applied in the Express Entry pool. ITAs that are given by BC PNP makes a candidate eligible to apply for provincial nomination certificate. As and when a candidates gets the certificate he or she can apply for permanent residency of Canada.

Manitoba

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent invitation to 324 skilled workers on February 27 to apply for a provincial nomination certificate. Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) are periodically issued by MPNP to individuals who submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) for settling down in the province.

The process of MPNP EOI comprises of a series of questions given online. When a candidate answers these questions he or she is given a rank as per the answers provided. The draw that took place in February sent LAA to candidates who had scored 719 points for skilled workers in Manitoba. There was a reduction of 15 points as compared to the one held before this on January 27th.

Prince Edward Island PNP Offers Unique Opportunity for Express Entry Candidates

Prince Edward Island PNP Offers Unique Opportunity for Express Entry Candidates

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) reopened recently and offered a unique immigration option to aspiring immigrants who had submitted their application in the federal Express Entry pool.

New Expression of Interest (EOIs) had not been accepted by the government of PEI for this stream since late 2016. However, EOIs are once again been accepted for PEI PNP.

The Express Entry stream of PEI is more improved now, which means candidates have the chance to get 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points if they are able to get a nomination certificate. In such a case, their chances of being picked up for receiving the Invitation to Apply (ITA) increases considerably.

What is the Working of PEI PNP?

When compared with other PNP streams in the Express Entry system, the PEI PNP can be considered more of an outlier.

First distinctive feature of this is that this program does not work on points based system. Any aspiring immigrants who have been successful in submitting a profile in the Express Entry system will also be eligible for making an Expression of Interest under the Prince Edward Island Express Entry stream.

There is an exception on international graduates who are working in Prince Edward Island on the basis of Post-Graduate Work Permit. These types of candidates should have a minimum of four months of full-time work experience with their employer in PEI.

Another distinctive feature of this program is that an applicant is not required to submit any application fee. Moreover, the process of submitting the application is quite simple. The application form contains just one page asking only simple questions and a question that asks ‘Why would you like to immigrate to Prince Edward Island?’

How to Get Nominated?

An aspiring immigrant who wants to apply for PEI PNP Express Entry stream must fulfill the following requirements:

·         Fulfill the eligibility requirement for at least one immigration programs from the federal government:

  • o   Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • o   Federal Skilled Worker Class or
  • o   Canadian Experience Class

·         Create a profile for federal Express Entry system

A candidate should however remember that submitting an EOI is different from submitting an application for the program. A candidate needs to be selected before he or she can submit the application for the program.
Although, PEI PNP does not use point system, but selection of candidates is not done randomly. This is something which can be considered as semi-transparent.

If you want to have complete information on how you can immigrate to Canada that you can get your profile checked at WWICS complaint cell. You can read the feedback of thousands of satisfied clients at the WWICS reviews section.

Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream Reopened by Canada

Ontario is one of the most popular provinces in Canada for new immigrants. The Human Capital Priorities immigration program of Ontario has reopened on February 21, 2017. This program forms part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) and candidates who are already in the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC’s) Express Entry pool are selected for this program.

This program opened last time only in early 2016. However, a temporary pause was put by the government of Ontario on several of its streams on May 9th, 2016, including on the Human Capital Priorities Stream.
Re-opening of this program will benefit many candidates who are already in Express Entry pool. When such a candidate is nominated by OINP, he or she will get additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. With this significant benefit, the ranking of such a candidate moves higher in the Express Entry pool and it greatly increases the chances of selection in a subsequent draw.

A Notification of Interest (NOI) is sent to a candidate picked up by the OINP, and it allows the candidate to apply for the OINP under the stream. After the NOI has been issued, the selected candidate has just 45 days to apply for the OINP.

An enhanced provincial nomination certificate is issued to a successful applicant who is than added to the Express Entry profile of the candidate and an additional 600 CRS points are given to him.

Eligibility Criteria
It is not possible to apply for this program directly. An aspiring immigrant should receive a Notification of Interest (NOI). OINP makes use of the Express Entry pool and picks candidates who:

·         Have scored a minimum of 400 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System

·         Fulfill other requirements under the program
In order to get selected under this program from Ontario, an applicant should be eligible under the Canadian Experience Class or the Federal Skilled Worker Class. Candidates who are under Federal Skilled Trades

Class will not be considered for this program.
Individuals who have submitted their application for the Federal Skilled Worker Class should have nearly one year of work experience in the past five years. Individuals who have applied under the Canadian Experience Class should have one year of work experience in the past three years.
Along with the above requirement, those candidates who have expressed a desire to live in Ontario will only be considered.

Applicants should have proven language ability in French or English at the advanced intermediate level, CLB 7 or above, and should have attained Bachelor’s Degree level or higher. Proof of settlement funds is also required to be shown, to indicate that they are able to provide financial support to themselves and their family members.

The last time, Notifications of Interest were issued under this program is more than a year back. Aspiring immigrants who applied for Canada permanent residency after that time may not be aware of this program.
This immigration program is unique. It has a passive way of granting Canada permanent residency and a different set of eligibility criteria. The most important point in this program is that it is a wonderful opportunity for those candidates who have already prepared their profile for Express Entry system.

Nearly Half of Canada’s Population will be Immigrant by 2036

A comprehensive report has been released by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) which concludes that nearly half of the population of Canada will be immigrant by the year 2036.

As per the information mentioned in the study which was released by Statistics Canada, the proportion of immigrant in Canada was nearly 20 per cent in the year 2011 and by the year 2036 it will comprise nearly 30 per cent of the overall population.

Multi-Cultural Society

The study has projected that the country will move ahead to become a culturally diverse one in the future. The majority of the immigrants that will be settling down in Canada will be from Asia by the year 2036.

The percentage of immigrants that will be coming from Europe will be on the decline. It will go down from 31 percent at present to 15 percent in the future. The number of immigrants that are coming from Africa will increase to nearly eleven percent.

When we take a look at the working-age population, the share of the visible minority group will increase from nearly 20% to nearly 40% by the 2036. The main visible minority group in this proportion will be from South Asia, just like it is today. Chinese people will come at the second position.

Groups that will increase rapidly in proportion will be from Philippines, Arab and West Asian groups. Just like it has been in the past, Canada will be a land where many languages are spoken in the future as well.
The first language of nearly 30% of the population living in Canada will be other than English and French. However, these people need to be proficient in one of these two languages in order to be competent in the social, professional and academic life.

As per the economic immigration programs from Canada, the principal applicant need to be proficient either in English or in French. At present nearly 20% of population living in Canada is the one that neither has French or English as their first language.
