Canada Implements Lottery System to Reunite Immigrant Families

Canada is in plans to implement a lottery system in place of the first-come, first-served immigration procedure to reunite grandparents and parents.

According to a news update from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada the change will be implemented to make the immigration system fair for all candidates. In past, a backlog used to get created as the number of people applying for it far outnumbers the number of visas available.

Immigration minister John McCallum said in a statement that they have paid attention to feedbacks from applicants in the past and have taken measures to make the process fair for everyone.

The new process will give equal chance to everyone who has applied to sponsor their parents to come to Canada.

Permanent residents and citizens of Canada who want to sponsor their grandparents and parents will be required to fill an online form between January 3rd and February 2nd, 2017 within 30 days.

Once a prospective sponsor has submitted the information in a proper manner, he or she will get a confirmation number. IRCC has stated that duplicate entries will be removed. Prospective sponsor should understand that by submitting the online form they are only expressed their will, they have not applied for sponsorship as such.

After the 30 days period, 10,000 applications will be randomly picked by IRCC and these people will be invited to submit the completed application form for the Parent and Grandparent program. Applicants who are picked will get 90 days to submit their completed application form.

What if you are not selected?

Everyone will be informed about the status of their application by IRCC regardless of whether they are selected or not. Whose application has not been picked up can submit their application again in 2018.

Sometime back it was announced by McCallum that the waiting period for the reunification of family will be cut to half. At present, the process takes two years and in the coming time it will be reduced to one year.

Canada Among Top 5 In The List With Most Immigrants

An interactive tool has been published by the Pew Research Centre that is based in the United States that depicts the structure of the people immigrating to and from different countries around the world. The data has been taken from the United States Population Centre.

After analyzing the data it has been found that Canada immigration has been one of the highest in the world. The numbers are close to the number of immigrants that are coming to the United States. The data shows that nearly 46 million people who are living in Canada at present were born in a different country.

Talking about Canada immigration, it has been found that a dramatic transformation has taken place in the immigrant population of Canada in the past 25 years. According to the diagram created by Pew Research Centre, it has been found that the number of people who have immigrated to Canada from India in the year 2015 alone has been 620,000.

Back in the year 1990 only 170,000 people from India had received Canada permanent residency. This number rose to 320,000 people in a decade by the turn of the century. In the 2010, 560,000 people received Canada immigration from India.
When we take a look at the number of people applying for Canada immigration from different countries, India is at the second spot next only to China. It goes on to show that Indian people are able to settle down in Canada very easily and the environment there is very suitable for them.

It is worth noting here that USA has the largest number of immigrants in the world, but the share in the overall population is only 14%. On the other hand, 22% of population in Canada is that of immigrants putting it at the third spot in the overall list.

Australia is ranked at the second position in the share of immigrants with 28%, and the first spot is taken by Saudi Arabia where 32% of the population is immigrants. This all goes on to show the quality of life that is available to people applying for Canada permanent residency.

At the bottom of the list is Japan where only 1.6% people are immigrants and China is lower still where only 0.07% of population is immigrants.

University of California Pledges to Protect Illegal Immigrants from Donald Trump Administration

University of California Pledges to Protect Illegal Immigrants from Donald Trump Administration

Janet Napolitano is a former official of Obama administration and she is now head of California’s public university system. Janet is preparing to fight President-elect Donald Trump over illegal immigration.

During the first term of Obama, she has served as secretary of Homeland Security and an announcement has been made by her that the vast system of higher education will now put into force the federal law when it comes to undocumented immigrants.

Janet said that we are still not aware about the new practices and policies that the Donald Trump administration will come up with, but considering the proposals that have been put forward by President-
elect during the election campaign, we would like to reaffirm that the right to live, work and study safely will be held for everyone here.

The university system, however, did not declared that it is a sanctuary, but it clearly mentioned that it will protect students of University of California who are now living illegally in the country.

It has been added that the university system will not break any law, but, simple, the local police officials will not join any operation that will be carried out by immigration authorities or other agencies.

As per the federal law, campus police and other law enforcement agencies is supposed to report in case they suspect any illegal immigrant who is residing in the country. Promises that have been made by Donald Trump on illegal immigrants have been openly defied by dozens of cities across the United States including numerous churches and colleges.

No action has been taken by the Obama administration, but Donald Trump has said that he will cut down federal funding to all the cities that do not co-operate. Illegal immigrants will be admitted by the University of California is the same manner as permanent residents or citizens of US.

As per the official new policy from Napolitano, it is not mandatory for campus police to cooperate with federal, state or local law enforcement agencies to investigate arrest or detain people who violate federal immigration laws.

For future aspiring immigrants who wish to settle in USA, the secure and safe path is to immigrate to US in a legal manner. The best way to do is consult a well-known immigration consultant WWICS.

Increase in Canada Immigration after Donald Trump Win

It is official now that Donald Trump is the president of the United States of America. The business mogul turned reality TV star was voted to presidency by the public of America. It is not just Donald Trump, but his followers are ecstatic too.

For those who are not in support of this decision are making plans to get out of the territory ruled by Trump. The most favorable destination for these people is Canada. When Trump was nominated as the presidential runner from the Republican Party, there was an instant surge in the number of people wanting to move to Canada.

‘How to move to Canada’ was the most searched keyword on Google. The same trend was seen when Trump was close to winning the presidential race.

For many people Trump represents something sinister. This view point is not without reasons, as many comments made by Trump during the election campaign have been viewed as misogynistic, sexist and racist.
This is not all, Trump proposed anti-immigration and anti-trade policies during his election campaign. Now that he is president, in all likelihood these policies will be put into operation. It is because of this reason there are numerous US residents who are looking forward to move abroad, and particularly Canada.

How to Move to Canada from USA

The most promising way to move to Canada from US is by obtaining permanent residency of Canada. The options that are available to achieve this objective are by making investment or by applying for study or work in Canada.

High Number of Family Based Super Visa Immigrants, Skilled Workers & Professionals Continued to Be Admitted by Canada

A preliminary data released recently by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) clearly highlights that Canada continued admitting high number of new immigrants in the country in 2011. As per the data, no less than 248,660 immigrants were given Permanent Resident status in 2011, which consisted of 156,077 new economic immigrants, including immigrants on Canadian Skilled Workers & Professionals visa and 56,419 new family class immigrants and others.

Presently, the 29 POL of the Federal Skilled Worker Program has an annual cap of 10,000 new applications with a cap of 500 for each of the 29 occupations listed. Applicants with a job offer in an occupation where there is a shortage area are not affected by the cap. In case you do not have such a job offer, then the availability of visas is limited, since the 500 cap per occupation can be reached very quickly.

No sooner was the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa Program announced in December 2011, it became a popular choice for new immigrants with approval granted to over thousand applications. There has been an overall approval rate of 77 percent. year."

"Canada's per-capita immigration rate remains one of the highest in the world. Immigration has always been a sustaining feature of Canada's history and continues to play an important role in building our country. I'm pleased that the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa is working as intended and giving large numbers of eligible parents and grandparents an opportunity to spend extended periods of time with their families in Canada," said Citizenship & Immigration Minister Jason Kenney.

Following are the requirements to be met with by Super Visa applicants:
• Submit proof that the host child or grandchild meets a minimum income.
• Demonstrate that they have purchased comprehensive Canadian medical insurance.
• Undergo the Immigration Medical Examination procedure.

As of 26 February 2012, 80 percent of Super Visa applications were being processed within 41 calendar days. As noted by Kenney that application volumes continue to increase, CIC will also maintain its aim for a Super Visa processing time of eight weeks or lesser.

Lt. Col. B S Sandhu (Retd.), CMD, WWICS, the World's Largest Immigration Group said, "Federal Skilled Worker Program and Parent and Grandparent Super Visa program have been helping greatly all the Skilled Professionals as well as the eligible parents/grandparents, giving them the opportunity to immigrate to the maple country at the earliest possible. Canada’s charm and immigrant friendly regulations help it maintain its popularity at all times."

Hottest Phenomenal reforms in Canadian Immigration System

WWICS Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has introduced some phenomenal reforms and changes in the immigration system to be effective from January 2 next year. The changes will address labor shortage problems and help in avoiding backlogs. It will also ensure a fast processing time.

Three significant changes in building a fast and flexible immigration system that have been announced by CIC are introduction of Expression of Interest (EOI) application system to create a massive pool of skilled workers in the country, the introduction of a new Federal Skilled Trades Program that would focus on jobs, growth and long-term prosperity.

The third key reform is announcement of changes in the existing Canada Experience Class (CEC) program to attract the best and brightest manpower from around the world.

Inspired by an approach developed by New Zealand - and now being used in Australia - an Expression of Interest application system is the model the Government of Canada plans to use to create this pool of skilled workers. The potential immigrants can fill an online form signifying their “immigration interest” in coming to Canada as permanent residents.

Secondly, the Federal Skilled Trades Stream is a dedicated and streamlined program that is aimed at addressing the shortcomings of the existing Federal Skilled Workers program that is on a temporary moratorium. The new program will complement other avenues already in place for skilled tradespersons wishing to immigrate to Canada, such as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

The professions in high demand would comprise of electricians, welders, heavy-duty equipment mechanics, pipe fitters, among others. The list of occupations would be declared shortly. The key pre-requisites of this new skilled workers program will ensure the aspirant has the exact required skills.

They will have an offer of employment in Canada or a certificate of qualification from a province or territory to ensure that applicants are ‘job ready’ upon arrival.

WWICS Lastly as far as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is concerned, there are two immigrant’s categories; firstly foreign graduates from Canadian post-secondary institutions with at least one year of full-time (or equivalent) experience and secondly a temporary foreign worker with at least two years of full-time (or equivalent) experience.

The skilled workers may apply under the CEC program with 12 months of Canadian work experience, a year sooner than the previously required 24 months. In addition to that, Canadian post-secondary institution graduates would now have more time to earn their one year of work experience of up to 36 months.

These changes will make the program more flexible for temporary foreign worker applicants who will be eligible to qualify for permanent residency more quickly. Also, the international students will gain more time to acquire the necessary experience to apply for permanent residency.
