Canada invited 761 PNP candidates to apply for permanent residence on September 29, 2021

                EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #206: September 29, 2021

Canada invited 761 PNP candidates to apply for permanent residence on September 29, 2021

Canada invited another 761 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence in new Express Entry draw conducted on September 29, 2021.

Immigration candidates who had previously received nominations under an Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) were eligible for this round of invitations.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for this draw was 742. A provincial nomination automatically awards a candidate 600 additional CRS points; therefore PNP draws always have higher cut-off threshold than any other type of Express Entry draw.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was July 29, 2021 at 09:45:29 UTC. This means the PNP candidates who had a CRS score of 742 or more and had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation to apply (ITA) in this draw.

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FST) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.  A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.

Express Entry-aligned PNPs

With an aim to attract highly skilled immigrants and deal with labour market needs, many of Canada’s provinces and territories have provincial nominee immigration streams linked to federal Express Entry.

Immigration candidates, who obtain a nomination from an Express Entry-aligned PNP, automatically receive 600 points toward their overall CRS score, eventually enabling him/her receive an ITA quickly.

Invited Express Entry candidates now have 60 days to submit their complete application for Canadian permanent residence. If their application gets approved, IRCC will issue them a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).

So far this year, IRCC has invited total 109,696 Express Entry Candidates under PNP and CEC streams to apply for Canada PR.

CANADA INVITED 4500 CEC CANDIDATES TO APPLY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY IN NEW EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW

Express Entry draw : July 8, 2021

Canada invited another 4,500 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates to apply for permanent residency in new Express Entry Draw held on July 8, 2021.

The invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates who had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) threshold of at least 369.

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration category for foreign workers who have completed at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents.

It is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for temporary foreign workers including international students. Having obtained Canadian work experience, these individuals get a “head start” against other candidates in the Express Entry pool as it is a highly-valued factor under the CRS.

The IRCC applied a tie break in this draw and the time stamp used was June 10, 2021 at 22:46:37 UTC. This means all CEC candidates with a CRS score of and above 369 who had submitted their profiles before this date & time, received ITAs in this invitation round.

Canada has a target of inviting 108,500 immigration candidates for permanent residency through the Express Entry system in 2021.

So far, IRCC has invited 93,842 Express Entry candidates this year, which is twice the number of invitations issued by Canada at the same time last year – 53,800.

Since the beginning of 2021, Canada has been holding only CEC and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific Express Entry draws as these candidates are most likely to be present in Canada during the pandemic.

Canada invited 1002 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residency in new Express Entry Draw

 Express Entry Draw #193: June 23, 2021

Canada continues to conduct program-specific Express Entry round of invitations. In new immigration draw conducted on June 23, 2021, a total of 1002 Express Entry Candidates who previously received a nomination from an Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residency.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) threshold requirement for this draw was 742.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied a tie break in this draw and the time stamp used was February 18, 2021 at 04:04:56 UTC. That means all PNP candidates with a CRS score of at least 742 who had submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool before this date & time, received invitations in this draw.

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is the second most popular Canadian immigration program after Express Entry. Most of Canada’s provinces and territories have their own PNP streams (aligned with Federal Express Entry System and not aligned with Express Entry) that allow them to welcome foreign skilled professionals/workers who can help address their local labour market needs.

Candidates, who meet the selection criteria of an Express Entry-aligned PNP stream and successfully receive a provincial nomination invitation, can obtain additional 600 points toward their CRS Scores. This effectively guarantees them an ITA in subsequent Express Entry Draw.

Canada has already invited 82, 715 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency so far in 2021. This is almost twice the number of ITAs issued than at the same time last year.

CRS dropped 17 points to 432 in new CEC- specific Express Entry Draw on April 1 Total 5000 candidates received ITAs for Canadian PR

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #181: APRIL 1, 2021

Canada invited another 5000 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates to apply for Permanent Residency in latest Express Entry Draw on April 1.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score requirement for this draw was 432, which is a reduction of 17 points than the previous CEC-specific draw held on March 18. This is also the third-lowest CRS cut-off for a CEC draw conducted by Canada during the Coronavirus pandemic.

As per the tie-break rule applied by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), only those CEC candidates with minimum score of 432, who had submitted their Express Entry profile before February 16, 2021 at 09:51:22 UTC, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this draw.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration category for foreign workers who have at least one year of full-time (or an equivalent in part-time) skilled, professional or technical work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents.

Canadian Experience Class applications are processed through the Express Entry system. Eligible candidates need to first create an online Express Entry profile and receive an ITA before they can make an application for permanent residency.

CEC is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for temporary foreign workers. Having obtained Canadian work experience, these individuals get a “head start” against other candidates in the Express Entry pool as it is a highly valued factor under the CRS.

It is a popular option for international students as it offers them the fastest and most simple path to achieving permanent residence after completing a program or course of study at a Canadian educational institution and acquiring required work experience.

In order to meet its ambitious target of welcoming 401,000 economic class immigrants in 2021 amid travel restrictions, IRCC has been holding CEC and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific draws since these candidates are most likely already in Canada.

The total number of invitations issued by IRCC so far this year is already 49,124, which is almost half of its target of new Express Entry admissions in 2021.

Alberta invited 300 Express Entry candidates with CRS Scores as low as 301 to apply for provincial nomination on March 26

The Canadian province of Alberta released details of its new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw conducted on March 26.

A total of 300 Express Entry candidates received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) in this invitation round.

In order to receive an invite in this draw, candidates just needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 301.

Introduced in 2018, the Alberta Express Entry Stream allows the AINP search the federal Express Entry system for candidates who meet its specific eligibility requirements and invites them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

It also provides a pathway to permanent residence for eligible Express Entry candidates with strong ties to the province or who are working in an occupation that supports the province’s “economic development and diversification priorities,” among other factors.

Candidates do not require having any job offers in the province to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination through this Stream. However, AINP generally gives priority to candidates who:

  • have a job offer and/or work experience in the province;
  • hold a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer; or
  • have a parent, child or sibling already living in the province

During the current Covid-19 pandemic, AINP is only considering those immigration candidates for nomination who are already living and working in Alberta.

Express Entry candidates with a nomination from Alberta, receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, which effectively increase their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.

Alberta has now invited more than 1000 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination so far in 2021.

British Columbia invited 195 immigration candidates in new PNP draw on January 19

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited 195 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency in new immigration draw held on January 19.

Candidates were invited under the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level & Semi-Skilled sub-categories of Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration streams.

StreamSub-CategoryMinimum Scores Requirements
Skills ImmigrationSkilled Worker96
International Graduate96
Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled80
Express Entry BCSkilled Worker106
International Graduate103

The Express Entry BC (EEBC) Category allows BCPNP to search Federal Express Entry pool to find qualified international workers or graduates who have the qualifications, education and work experience to fill positions that are in high-demand in the province and invite them to apply for provincial nomination.

The Skills Immigration Category of BCPNP is designed for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in British Columbia

In order to receive an invitation for provincial nomination through the EEBC, candidates need to be registered under both the federal Express Entry system and B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) whereas Skills Immigration candidates only have to be registered with the SIRS.

All invited candidates under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories had an indeterminate, full-time job offer with an employer in B.C.

Candidates invited under the EEBC: Skilled Worker and EEBC: International Graduate categories will automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points toward their comprehensive ranking system (CRS) scores, if their applications get approved by BCPNP.

This effectively guaranties them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Federal Express Entry Draw.

BC PNP has now invited total 448 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination so far in 2021.
