In the Express Entry draw that
was held on July 12, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off went down
to 440 points. This means that all the candidates in the Express Entry pool who
scored 440 or more points in the CRS were issued the Invitation to Apply (ITA).
A total number of 3,202
candidates have been invited to apply for permanent residency of Canada.
There has been a decrease of nine
points since the previous draw which was carried out on June 28th.
After changes were made tot he
CRS last month, this is the second draw that has taken place since then.
After the changes, and as was
mentioned by WWICS sometime back, a temporary rise in the CRS cut off threshold
was expected. This is considering the fact that there has been an increase in
score of some candidates who had siblings living in Canada and of those who had
French proficiency.
There was another reason
attributed to this temporary rise in cut-off of Comprehensive Ranking System
(CRS) and that is there has been a long gap between the draws that took place
last month.
The cut-off threshold has been
higher than the historic low of 413 points and beyond. Candidates who are
already in the pool should not feel disheartened as the cut-off threshold in
indeed decreased in the Express Entry draw that took place this time.
It should also be noted that
slightly less Invitation to Apply (ITA) have been issued this time as compared
to previous draw.
After the July 12th
draw, a total number of 54,487 Invitation to Apply (ITA) have been issued till
now for the year 2017. This number is much higher as compared to the whole of
previous year.
According to Immigration,
Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Express Entry is clearly the main
driver of the economic immigration to Canada.
